The Boilers (C1A) Contractor License allows you to do the following installation of:

  • Boilers
  • Pipes for hot water and steam
  • Valves
  • Gauges
  • Pumps
  • Radiators
  • Convectors
  • Lines for fuel oil
  • Chimneys
  • Flues
  • Insulation and other appurtenances
  • All related fittings

How to Get a Nevada Boilers (C1A) Contractor License?

  1. Obtain a Nevada Business ID before filling out the Contractor Application. In order to get the business ID, contact the Nevada Secretary of State to complete the application for a Nevada State Business License
  2. Gather all the needed documents by the Nevada State Contractors Board (NSCB) to submit with the application:
  3. Complete the Work Experience Certificate Form to provide information about your past work history
    • Proof of eligibility for Licensure by Endorsement. Applicants are advised to review the State Equivalency Chart to determine their eligibility
    • Four years of experience as a journeyman, foreman, supervision employee, or contractor in the specific classification requested within 15 years of filing this application
    • Four (4) Certification of Work Experience Forms (Certificates) for EACH Trade Qualifier
    • The total time of experience with all certificates combined must be a minimum of 4 years (1460 days), meaning that each certificate does NOT have to demonstrate four years of experience
    • Proof of transferable military training and experience
    • An active Master's Certification issued by an officially recognized agent or governmental agency similar to the Boilers (C1A) classification
  4. Fulfill the Contractor License Application Form with the complete documentation
  5. Expect an Eligibility Examination form AFTER application submission and employment history verification
  6. Take and approve the Boilers (C1A) trade exam and the Management Survey Business and Law CMS exam conducted by PSI©
  7. Upon acceptance by the Nevada State Contractors Board, you must submit the License Bond mentioned on the approval letter and proof of Workers' Compensation Insurance
  8. The Nevada State Contractors Board will send the Boilers (C1A) contractor license to the address listed on the application
