Low Voltage Electrical License | Monroe County (GITS©)

A Low Voltage Specialty Electrical Contractor is qualified and certified to install, fabricate, erect, repair, alter, add to or change any electrical wiring, fixtures, appliances, thermostats, apparatus, raceways and conduit, or any part thereof, not to exceed ninety-eight (98) volts, which generates, transmits, transforms or utilizes electrical energy, when those items are for the purpose of transmitting any form of light, heat or communications, including but not limited to telephone, radio, computer and data. A low voltage specialty electrical contractor may connect to an existing separate circuit of approved capacity, which is terminated in an approved outlet, junction box or fused disconnect within six (6) feet of the equipment to be energized.

  • Monroe County (Florida) Low Voltage (GITS) Course

    Course Description: This course can be taken through morning, afternoon, and evening classes, every week. You will be able to choose from all available times and dates at the time of your registration (first come, first served).  Once you register for the course, you will be contacted to set up your training sessions according to your schedule. The subjects covered in this training will reflect material specific to this exam (no generic material). You can access the live classes from any computer and talk to your professor (one-on-one) in real time. You will also receive access to practice questions and training material to complete before taking the exam, after the live training sessions. An email with all instructions will be sent to the student’s email address, immediately after registration.   • Monroe County (Florida) Business and Finance (GITS) Course

    Course Description: Upon enrolment the student receives an email containing his/her ID and Password combination to access the eCampus. The student can access the eCampus 24/7 for as long as it is necessary until he/she passes all licensing exams. The eCampus contains VIDEOS, PRACTICE QUESTIONS (similar to those seen on the actual exams), typical MATH PROBLEMS with step-by-step solutions, and detailed instructions on how to FIND ANSWERS within the books. The student also has access to optional in-person classroom-style refresher seminars. The training can be completed fully online, but if the student prefers, he/she can go to any number of REFRESHER SEMINARS (no extra charges or limitations).

Business Exam

This exams tests candidate's knowledge of payroll taxes, workers' compensation, unemployment compensation, lien laws and other laws or subjects that will affect their daily operations as contractors. All contractors need to take and pass this exam.
