Michigan HUD Installer License

The HUD Installer License allows you to do the following work:

• Installation of new manufactured homes

A HUD Installer cannot manipulate previously occupied units.

How to Get a HUD Installer Contractor's License?

1. Meet the requirements for the HUD Installer contractor's license:
   • Be at least 18 years old.
   • Pay the fee.
2. Fill in and submit the application:
   • Complete the form for the chosen application:
     • HUD Installer Application
   • If applying by mail, submit the application and fee to P.O. Box 30255, Lansing, MI, 48909.
   • If applying online:
     1. Go to the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs website.
     2. Login or Register for an account (make sure to read and accept the terms and to fill in the contact's information).
     3. Go to “BCC licenses” and then click on “Apply for a License”.
     4. Read and accept the terms.
     5. Select HUD Installer license and trade.
     6. Complete each step (this includes fee payment online).
3. Upon approval, the license will be issued.
