Mechanical and Boilers

The Mechanical and Boiler contractor licenses are issued by the department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA), through the Bureau of Construction Codes (BCC), and the Skilled Trades Division. Michigan currently issues two types of boiler licenses, which are the Boiler Installer’s License and the Boiler Repairer’s License. Additionally, there is a class P License listed under both licenses, which allows a contractor to perform either external piping repairs or installations depending on the chosen trade. Michigan currently licenses fourteen different types of mechanical contractors.
