The Boiler Repairer II Contractor License allows you to do repair work on the following types of boilers:

• All low-pressure boilers
• Hot water supply boilers
• Fire-tube boilers

How to get the Boiler Repairer II Contractor's License in Michigan?

1. Meet the licensing requirements for the Boiler Repairer II Contractor's License:
   • Be at least 18 years of age.
   • Have a minimum of 5 years of experience in all the phases of boiler installation in the Boiler Repairer II class.
     • Installers with 2 years of experience in the manufacturing, construction, design, or inspection of boilers, can use that time towards the 5 years of required minimum experience; repairers can use up to 3 years.
     • If any installation requires welding, it is essential to file welding procedure specifications and qualification reports that meet ASME© code Section IX (welding, brazing, and fusing qualifications) requirements with the boiler division.
   • It is not a requirement to have a clean criminal record to apply for these licenses.
2. Submit an online application or mail a completed paper application that includes proof of required experience from a previous employer and the applicable license fee.
3. Once the application is approved, PSI© will send information regarding instructions for registration and scheduling.
4. Take and pass the examination for the desired license.
5. Once the examination is successfully completed, the license will be issued.
