What Trades Do Not Require a License in Kissimmee?

According to the Osceola Board of County Commissioners, you must submit an Application for Registered Service Provider for the following trades which do not require a license.

Classifications Which do not Require a License in the City of Kissimmee

  • Irrigation
  • Handyman
  • Fence
  • Demolition
  • Swimming Pool Cleaner
  • Drywall Hanger
  • Other

Irrigation:

The builder shall be limited to the construction, installation, repair, maintenance, alteration, extension, and excavation for irrigational piping systems. A Class "I" engineered utility and drainage builder shall not drill wells or connect any sprinkler systems to potable water sources. In order to be eligible to be certified as a Class "I" engineered utility and drainage builder by the board, the individual shall have at least four (4) years of practical experience in the class.

Handyman:

A handyman is a versatile laborer who is skilled in a variety of repair, maintenance, and construction tasks.

Fence:

A Fence contractor is qualified and certified to fabricate, assemble, erect and install fences of masonry, wire, concrete, wood and other fence materials, in such manner that an acceptable fence can be erected complying with applicable regulations including zoning regulations.

Demolition:

Class "D" specialty building contractor shall include and be limited to the demolition, wrecking, and disassembling of buildings and other structures or parts thereof, and the removal of debris therefrom in such a manner that adjoining structures, properties, and parts thereof, workers, and other persons are not injured. In order to be eligible to be certified as a Class "D" specialty building contractor by the board, the applicant shall have at least two (2) years of practical experience in the category.

Swimming Pool Cleaner:

Swimming pool/spa water treatment and cleaning provider means any person whose scope of work involves the water treatment and cleaning of any swimming pool, hot tub, or spa, whether public or private. The scope of such work does not include any piping and piping repairs, replacement and repair of existing equipment, installation or repair of equipment, tile, coping, filter equipment or chemical feeders, replastering, construction of decks, footers, stem walls and steps, and reinstallation or addition of pool heaters. A state-certified or registered commercial pool/spa contractor, residential pool/spa contractor or swimming pool/spa servicing contractor shall not be required to obtain a local swimming pool/spa water treatment and cleaning contractor license. A swimming pool/spa water treatment and cleaning provider is not permitted to drain a swimming pool of more than twenty (20) percent of its capacity.

Drywall Hanger

Class "DL" specialty building contractor shall include and be limited to the installation of gypsum drywall products to existing studs, joists, or suspended ceiling channels; the fabrication and installation of all necessary and incidental metal accessories, including non-load bearing studs, runners, hangers, channels, drywall metal suspension accessories, and prefabricated ceiling materials, and the preparation and finish of the drywall surface. In order to be eligible to be certified as a Class "DL" specialty building contractor by the board, the applicant shall have at least two (2) years of practical experience in the category.

Requirements for the Registered Service Provider Application

  1. Copy of Business Tax Receipt from Osceola County Tax Collector
  2. Copy of Local Business Tax Receipt (from the jurisdiction where the business is located)
  3. Certificate of Insurance indicating Workers’ Compensation and General Liability policy
  4. Insurance Certificate Holder must be:
