State Licenses

Apprentice Electrician

For the purpose of learning the trade of specialty journeyman electrician, engages in the installation of electric wiring or equipment while under the constant on-the-job supervision of a qualified specialty journeyman electrician of the same category

Appliance Specialty Journeyman

Permitted to disconnect, cap, remove and reinstall within sixty (60) inches of original location: water heating appliance, water treating or filtering devices; air or space temperature modifying equipment which involves potable water; humidifier; temperature and pressure relief valves; condensate drains and indirect drains in one-family and two-family residences only.

Appliance Specialty

Permitted to disconnect, cap, remove, and reinstall within 60 inches of original location: water heating appliance, water treating or filtering devices; air or space temperature modifying equipment which involves potable water; humidifier; temperature and pressure relief valves; condensate drains and indirect drains in one (1) and two (2) family residences only.

Electrical

Providing or offering to provide electrical contracting services, including, but not limited to, submitting a bid. Must either be or employ at least one (1) full-time Idaho Master Electrician.

Electrical Limited Installer Elevator

Install, maintain, repair, and replace equipment, controls, and wiring beyond the disconnect switch in the machine room of the elevator and pertaining directly to the operation and control thereof when located in the elevator shaft and machine room.

Electrical Limited Installer Manufacturing Equipment

A licensed limited manufacturing or assembling equipment electrician must be employed by a licensed limited manufacturing or assembling equipment contractor in order to work in this category. The holder of a limited license in this category may not countersign a contractor's license application as supervising installer except for work within this limited category.

Electrical Limited Installer Refrigeration, Heating, & Air-Conditioning Installer

All such installation, maintenance, and repair performed by individuals under this subsection shall be done in accordance with applicable provisions of the National Electrical Code. He shall be employed by a licensed electrical contractor whose license shall be covered by this category.

Electrical Limited Installer Sign

A current sign-limited electrical license may install, maintain, repair, and replace equipment, controls, and wiring on the secondary side of sign disconnecting means; providing the disconnecting means is located on the sign or within sight therefrom.

Electrical Limited Installer Solar Photovoltaic

All such installation, maintenance, and repair not exempt under the provisions of Section 54-1016, Idaho Code, performed by individuals under this Subsection shall be done in accordance with the applicable provisions of the National Electrical Code.
