Signing Up for the North Carolina Contractor's Exam

Follow these steps to sign up for the NC contractor's test:

• Identify the licensing board that issues the license you need¹.
• Contact the board's approved testing companies².
• Submit your exam registration to the corresponding testing provider (links below).
• Make required payment and confirm the date and time of testing.

¹There are four contractor licensing boards in North Carolina: General Contractor's Board, Electrical Contractor's Board, Plumbing, Heating, and Fire Sprinkler Contractor's Board, and the Refrigeration Contractor's Board.
