Hawaii Supervising Specialty Electrician License

The Supervising Specialty Electrician License allows you to do the following work:

  • Directing and supervising the performance of electrical work

How to Get the Supervising Specialty Electrician License in Hawaii?

  1. Meet the experience requirements: Be not less than 18 years of age and have 2 years of experience as a Licensed Journey Worker Specialty Electrician or equivalent
  2. Fill out the Application, provide Your Social Security Number, and attach the corresponding fee (non-refundable) as instructed in the form
  3. Confirm if an Electrical Coursework conducted at or accepted by the University of Hawaii Community Colleges is required
  4. Send Experience Verification as supporting documentation
  5. Submit the complete application to the Honolulu Office at least seven working days before the next scheduled meeting date
  6. Schedule your exam with the testing provider and present any required documents (registration certificates, fee, letter of approval, etc.)
  7. After passing the examination and once the process has been approved, the Hawaii Board of Electricians and Plumbers will issue you a license
