How to Get the Elevator Mechanic Contractor’s License in Hawaii?

  1. Meet the experience requirements: Be not less than 18 years of age and have 4 years of training experience under the supervision of a Licensed Elevator Mechanic
  2. Fill out the Application, provide Your Social Security Number, and attach the corresponding fee (non-refundable) as instructed in the form
  3. Send Experience Verification (located on the last page of the form) as supporting documentation and duly signed by the Licensed Elevator Mechanic
  4. Submit the complete application to the Honolulu Office at least seven working days before the next scheduled meeting date
  5. Schedule your exam with the testing provider and present any required documents (registration certificates, fee, letter of approval, etc.)
  6. After passing the examination and once the process has been approved, the Hawaii Board of Elevator Mechanics will issue you a license
