How to Get the Accessibility Technician License in West Virginia?

    • Certificate of completion of an accessibility training program for the elevator industry, such as the Certified Accessibility Training (CAT) program by the National Association of Elevator Contractors, or an equivalent nationally recognized training program; OR
    • Affidavit of at least 18 months of experience with accessibility lifts (in construction, maintenance, service/repair, or any combination), verified by current and previous employers authorized to conduct business in the State; have at least one year of documented vocational training and/or an associate degree in a related field; and pass a written competency exam approved or provided by the West Virginia Division of Labor

  3. Receive a license issued by the Division once the process is confirmed
