“Marine Contractor” means a contractor whose services are limited to construction, maintenance, alteration, or repair of seawalls, bulkheads, revetments, docks, piers, wharves, groins, and other marine structures, to include pile driving. All contractors doing the work of a marine contractor, such as marine pile driving, dock and seawall construction, jetty or breakwater, dike or revetment construction, shall be required to obtain and maintain workers’ compensation coverage class code 6006F in addition to the required liability and workers compensation insurances. General, building, and residential contractors can perform the functions of marine contractors with the required insurance coverage.
