  • Acoustic Ceilings
    Acoustic or fire-retardant acoustic material or plastic material on ceilings and supporting members.
  • Alarm System I
    Can do all types of alarm systems for all purposes.
  • Alarm System II
    This license includes all types of alarm systems, other than fire, for all purposes except as provided herein.
  • Aluminum Specialty
    Includes installing screened porches, screened enclosures, pool enclosures, preformed panel-post and beam roofs.
  • Awning Erection
    May install such hardware as may be necessary and incidental to the extension and retraction of awnings and canopies.
  • Bridges, Overpasses, Underpasses Class B
    Construction, repair, and excavation for bridges, overpasses, and underpasses, not crossing water.
  • Building Code Official
  • Cabinetry
    Limited to the fabrication and installation of wood cabinets, countertops, bookshelves, and shelving.
  • Cable Television Class G
    Includes the construction, installation, repair, alteration, extension, and excavation for public and private cable television.
  • Carpentry
    This license include the scope of Finish and Rough Carpentry. (Everything from trusses to baseboard)
  • Class A Air Conditioning
  • Class A General Building
    Is unlimited as to the type of construction work and shall include the construction, repair, alteration, remodeling, addition to, subtraction from, improvement, and demolition of any building or structure,
  • Class B Air Conditioning
  • Class B General Building
    Construction, repair, and excavation for bridges, overpasses, and underpasses, not crossing water.
  • Class C Residential Building
  • Clearing & Grading
    Include and limited to the clearing of surface debris and vegetation, including the grubbing of roots, the removal thereof.
  • Commercial Pool, Spa Class CPC
    Includes the installation, repair, or replacement of existing equipment, any cleaning or equipment sanitizing which requires at least a partial disassembling, and the installation of new pool/spa equipment.
  • Concrete Placing and Finishing
    Placing and finishing of concrete, mixing or batching of concrete, including flatwork (slabs on grade, sidewalks, etc.)
  • Concrete Driveways, Curbs, Gutters, & Sidewalks
    Involves construction, repair, grading and excavation, for concrete driveways, curbs, gutters, driveway entrances, sidewalks.
  • Demolition
    Limited to the demolition, wrecking, and disassembling of buildings and other structures or parts thereof, and the removal of debris.
  • Drywall
    Installation of gypsum drywall products to existing studs, joists, or suspended ceiling channels
  • Elevator Installation & Maintenance
    Includes and be limited to extension of elevators, dumbwaiters, escalators, or any vertical conveyance.
  • Excavating Class A
  • Fabric Awning
    Installation of detachable cloth/synthetic cover awning material over an existing frame, including other materials incidental thereto.
  • Fence Erection
    Includes the installation of wire, wood, metal, PVC, or plastic components, or pre-cast or prefabricated fences, and railings.
  • Finished Carpentry
    Limited to cabinet installation, saunas, woodwork, wood floor surface materials and more.
  • Fire Alarm System Journeyman
  • Flatwork Specialty
    Involves slabs, walks, driveways, pool decks, foundations associated with slabs, and incidental foundations.
  • Flooring
    Application of floor surface materials made of asphalt, vinyl, sheet vinyl, cork linoleum, parquet wood, wood strips, and similar pre-finished surface flooring materials.
  • Fuel Transmission and Distribution
    Limited to the transmission and distribution lines for liquid or gaseous fuels under pressure, including pumping and booster stations, valves, meters, and similar equipment.
  • Garage Door
    Installation of all types of garage doors, including the related hardware and operating devices.
  • General Engineered Construction Builder
    Unlimited in the engineered construction field except that the general engineered construction builder's work in connection with utilities shall be considered to stop at a point five (5) feet from a building not specifically constructed for the purpose of pumping or processing pipeline products.
  • Gunite
    Application of concrete to existing surfaces by pneumatic or hydraulic methods, chipping loose concrete, the sandblasting and cleaning of reinforcements
  • Heavy Marine Class A
    Shall include the construction, alteration, and repair of bridges, tunnels, overpasses, harbor facilities, docks, shipyards, bulkheads, retaining walls, seawalls, dams, locks, and similar structures.
  • Insulation
    Applying of thermal or fire-retardant materials to and within existing walls, floors, and ceilings by mechanical or adhesive methods, and to install metal channels, hangers, and suspension systems.
  • Insulation Journeyman
    Insulation journeyman means a person who possesses the knowledge, ability and skill to perform insulation work in accordance with the plans and specifications therefor and in compliance with the building code and other applicable codes and regulations.
  • Irrigation Systems
    Limited to the construction, installation, repair, maintenance, alteration, extension, and excavation for irrigational piping systems.
  • Jack and Bore Installer
    Limited to the construction, installation, repair, maintenance, alteration, extension, and excavation for public and private underground crossings, being limited to the jacking and boring of casing sections, including the welding of sections, proper pit excavations, and dewatering, in accordance with the plans and specifications thereof, and in compliance with the building code and other applicable codes and regulations.
  • Journeyman Electrician
    The applicant shall demonstrate possession to install, repair, alter, or design, in compliance with law, electrical wiring, luminaries, appliances, apparatus, raceways, conduits, fire alarm systems, or any part thereof, which generate, transmit, transform, or utilize electrical energy in any form, including the electrical installations and systems within plants and sub-stations, shall work as an employee of and under the supervision and direction of a master electrician and/or electrical contractor.
  • Journeyman Plumber
    Journeyman Plumber shall have no less than four (4) years of practical plumbing experience.
  • Lawn Sprinkler
    The installation, repair, alteration, and extension of lawn sprinkling systems and the equipment, appliances, and apparatus used in connection therewith.
  • Plumber
    May install airpiping, vacuum line piping, oxygen line piping, nitrous oxide piping, and all related medical gas systems; fireline standpipes and fire sprinklers, to the extent authorized by law; ink and chemical lines; fuel oil and gasoline piping and tank and pump installation, except bulk storage plants; gaseous and liquefied hydrogen systems; and pneumatic control piping systems.
  • Light Marine
    Be limited to seawalls, retaining walls, davits, boat lifts, and small docks serving less than six (6) recreational vessels and less than fifty feet (50’) in length. May do such concrete work as may be necessary and incidental to the work.
  • Limited Energy Systems Specialty
    Installation, repair, fabrication, erection, alteration, addition to, or design of electrical wiring, fixtures, appliances, thermostats, apparatus, raceways, conduits, and fiber optics (transmission of light over stranded glass) or any part thereof not to exceed 98 volts
  • Limited Energy Systems Specialty Journeyman
    Limited to the installation, repair, alteration, construction, and extension of electrical wires, apparatus, circuits, and equipment for burglar alarms, private telephones, which do not meet the requirements of Subsection 489.503(15)
  • Maintenance Electrician
    Shall only maintain electrical installations and systems located in or upon the building or property of the maintenance electrician's regular employer.
  • Major Roads Class A
    Limited to interstate, primary, secondary, and arterial roadways; repair, extension, surfacing, striping, pavement markings, and signage of roads, bridges, airport runways and aprons, parking lots, sidewalks, curbs, and gutters; and storm drainage facilities and any excavating, clearing, grading, milling, and concrete work if necessary.
  • Masonry Class M
    Includes selection, cutting, and laying of bricks, concrete block, and any other unit masonry or clay products, rough-cut and dress stone, artificial stone, pre-cast blocks, structural glass brick or block, decor block, and veneer, all of which may be laid at random or in course and with or without mortar
  • Master Electrician
    Install, repair, alter, add to, or design electrical wiring, luminaries, appliances, apparatus, raceways, conduits, fire alarm systems.
  • Master Plumber
    Install airpiping, vacuum line piping, oxygen line piping, nitrous oxide piping, and all related medical gas systems; fireline standpipes and fire sprinklers, to the extent authorized by law
  • Mechanical
    Install piping, insulation of pipes, vessels and ducts, pressure and process piping, pneumatic control piping, gasoline tanks and pump installations and piping for same, and more.
  • Mechanical Insulation
    Execution of contracts requiring the experience, knowledge and skill to install, maintain, repair, alter and extend any insulation primarily installed to prevent loss or gain of heat from internal sources in pipes, vessels, ducts or in built-up refrigerated boxes or rooms, including the application of protective coating necessary and incidental thereto.
  • Mechanical Journeyman
    The applicant must demonstrate possession of the knowledge, ability and skill to perform mechanical work in accordance with the plans and specifications therefor and in compliance with the building code and other applicable codes and regulations
  • Misc Metals
    Installation of metal cabinets, store fixtures, and metal partitions which are nonbearing interior or exterior partitions made or composed of metal or other materials all of which are attached or affixed to existing openings and buildings components.
  • Painting (Interior & Exterior)
    Limited to the application of paint and related liquid or viscous products, by brush, roller, or spray methods to interior and exterior surfaces, including roofs, painting can be accomplished either on inside or outside surfaces; and cleaning, caulking, priming, and sizing of surfaces in preparation for such work.
  • Paver Class PV
    Limited to preparing the base, providing for proper drainage, and to selecting, cutting, and laying pavers and shall not pour or finish concrete, except for footings required for the placing of the paver system.
  • Pile Driving Class E
    Qualified to the construction of piling systems, including sheet piling and the construction, formation, and excavation for foundations, the placing of reinforcing steel therein, and all concrete work necessary.
  • Plans, Examiners, Field Inspectors
    Can perform field inspections and/or plans reviews on structures to be built inside Broward County as they relate to the HVHZ sections of the Florida Building Code and its related sections.
  • Plant Construction
    Limited to the construction of facilities, buildings, and structures which are designed or intended to be used as water and waste water treatment plants, pumping and lift stations, or industrial complexes; and the installation of all piping, equipment, appurtenances, and apparatus used in connection.
  • Plastering & Stucco
    Application of mixtures of sand or other aggregate, gypsum, plaster, portland cement, quick lime, and water, or any combination of such materials.
  • Pneumatic Control
    Limited to the installation, maintenance, repair, alteration and extension of any system used for the purpose of controlling instruments, valves, damper motors, controllers and similar equipment through the use of pneumatic lines of sufficient size and strength to meet the requirements of the system.
  • Primary Pipelines Class A
    Limited to the construction, installation, repair, maintenance, alteration, extension, and excavation for water and waste water piping systems, storm and drainage systems, and the installation of force mains, pumping, and pipeline equipment, junction boxes, manholes, inlets, valves, and similar equipment incidental thereto
  • Residential Interior Remodeling
    Limited to interior remodeling only of one-family, two-family, or three-family residential dwelling units, and accessory use structure in connection, all of which shall not exceed two (2) stories in height. Can perform the work of all specialty building contractor categories and classes which directly relate to interior remodeling.
  • Residential Pool, Spa Class Rp
    Installation/repair, or replacement of existing equipment, any cleaning or equipment sanitizing which requires at least a partial disassembling, and the installation of new pool/spa equipment, interior finishes, installation of all perimeter and filter piping, installation of housing for pool equipment, and installation of package pool heaters. Does not include direct connections to a sanitary sewer system or to potable water lines.
  • Roof decks
    Installation of roof decks, which include and are limited to gypsum concrete decks, insulating concrete decks and fills, and structural cement-fiber roof decks.
  • Roofing
    Installation, repair, and replacement of roof coverings to stop water from passing by such applied protective material, including the use of sheet metal and other sheet metal products necessary to roofing work.
  • Roof Painting and Cleaning
    Limited to applying paint or other decorative coatings to roof surfaces by brush, roller, or spray method, including the pressure cleaning of roofs to remove fungus, dirt, and paint, by steam or chemicals, in preparation for the application of coatings. Shall not replace any cracked or broken roof tiles nor perform any roof repairs.
  • Rough Carpentry
    Limited to rough carpentry and formwork for wooden patio decks, roofs, trusses, sheathing, fascia boards (furring and blocking), placing and finishing concrete, and prefabricated sheds limited to two hundred (200) square feet.
  • Sandblasting
    Includes the cleaning of surfaces by pneumatic sandblasting in preparation for waterproofing or paint, engraving, cutting, or cleaning glass or stone, and removing scale from metals.
  • Screen Enclosures
    Installation of an enclosure, or any part thereof, which in whole or in part is self-supporting and which has walls of insect screening and a roof of insect screening, plastic, aluminum, or similar lightweight material. Does not construct cabana rooms or carports nor pour concrete slabs.
  • Seal Coating Class D
    Limited to the application of prepared sealants to asphalt, roadways, driveways, sidewalks, and other similar surfaces, including incidental striping, pavement markings, and signage.
  • Secondary Pipelines Class B
  • Sheet Metal
    Unlimited in Sheet Metal trade, when not prohibited by law, of ferrous or nonferrous metal work of U.S. No. 10.
  • Sheet Metal Journeyman
  • Shutter, Opening Protective
  • Sign Erection
    Installation of any outside display of characters, letters, illustrations, or ornamentations which do not include the incorporation of any electrical work in their manufacture, fabrication, or erection. May also install panels, facing, and frame structures which are movable or fixed, free standing, or attached to an existing building or structure.
  • Solar Photovoltaic Systems Specialty
  • Steel Reinforcing & Iron
    Qualified to the fabrication, placing, and tying of steel reinforcing bars (rods) of any profile, perimeter, or crosssection which are used or intended or designed to be used to reinforce concrete buildings or structures, in accordance with the plans and specifications therefor.
  • Structural Steel
    Limited to the erection of structural steel shapes and plates, including such minor field fabrication as may be necessary, of any profile, perimeter, or cross-section used, or which may be used, as structural members for buildings and structures, including steel joists; steel decking in conjunction with lightweight decks; siding; communication towers; and all riveting, welding, and rigging necessary.
  • Surfacing Class E
    Shall include the construction, repair, extension, surfacing, striping, pavement markings, and signage of tennis courts, bike paths, driveways, and parking lots with drainage incident thereto, being limited to soakage pits and drywells, and any excavating, clearing, and grading work necessary.
  • Tile, Marble & Granite
    Shall include erecting, attaching, applying, and embedding tile, marble, and granite on concrete, clay or other materials, applied to floors or walls, and shall include the application of setting materials. Includes tile, brick, marble, granite, or similar materials and is to include non-load-bearing structural elements.
  • Transport Assembly
    Services are limited to the execution of contracts requiring the experience, knowledge and skill to install any system of horizontal conveyor assembly, including any vertical conveyors attached to horizontal conveyor assemblies, and all appurtenances and equipment necessary and incidental thereto. Contractor shall not include any external plumbing or electrical systems.
  • Tunnels Class C
    Shall include and be limited to the construction, repair, and excavation for tunnels and all paving and concrete work incidental.
  • Underground and Aerial Utility Transmission
    Limited to the construction, installation, and excavation for underground and aerial electrical and communication transmission lines, manholes, splice pits, and laying of rigid conduit incidental.
  • Waterproofing
    Application of waterproofing products by brush, roller, or spray methods to existing interior and exterior surfaces, except roofs, in accordance with the plans and specifications therefor, including the cleaning, sandblasting, caulking, and priming of surfaces in preparation for the application of waterproofing products.
  • Window & Door
    To install, replace, repair, and servicing work, when not prohibited by law, in accordance with accepted engineering data and/or according to manufacturers' specifications of exterior windows and doors, hurricane protection devices, shutters, and hardware in connection therewith which do not effect structural changes.
