State Licenses
Residential Basic Contractor
"Residential-basic contractor" means and encompasses a person who performs contractor work or activity relative to detached one-family and two-family residences and one-family townhouses not over three stories in height and their accessory buildings and structures
Commercial General Building Contractor (NASCLA)
A contractor whose services are unlimited as to the type of work which he or she may do
Commercial General Building Contractor - Limited Tier Individual (NASCLA)
Limited Tier contractors can only engage in smaller construction projects with a contract limit of $500,000 USD.
Commercial General Building Contractor - Qualifying Agent (NASCLA)
A contractor whose services are unlimited as to the type of work which he or she may do
Commercial General Building Contractor - Limited Tier Qualifying Agent (NASCLA)
Limited Tier contractors can only engage in smaller construction projects with a contract limit of $500,000 USD.
Residential Light Commercial Contractor
A "Residential-light commercial contractor" means and encompasses a person who performs any contractor work or activity performed by a residential-basic contractor and, additionally, shall include such contractor work or activity related to multifamily and multiuse light commercial buildings and structures, and their related accessory buildings and structures, which are less than four stories in height; less than 25,000 square feet in aggregate interior floor space, except as otherwise provided in this chapter; and are constructed of wood or light gauge metal frame, brick veneer, prefabricated, or manufactured type of construction; or are preengineered steel buildings not exceeding 50,000 square feet of interior floor space;
Master Plumber Non-Restricted
A Master Plumbing can perform plumbing work of any kind, there are no restrictions.
Master Plumber Restricted Contractor
Restricted master plumbing contractor's scope of work is limited to plumbing involving single family dwellings, one-level dwellings designed for no more than 2 families, and commercial structures not exceeding 10,000 square feet
Journeyman Plumber
The journeyman plumbing license is required of persons, other than licensed Master Plumbers, who install, maintain, alter, or repair plumbing fixtures and systems under the direction of a Master Plumber.
Electrical Contractor Class I (Restricted)
An electrical contractor class I is restricted to electrical contracting involving multifamily structures of not more than two levels or single family dwellings of up to three levels. In addition, the structures shall have single-phase electrical installations which do not exceed 400 amperes at the service drop or the service lateral.
Electrical Contractor Class II (Unrestricted) aka Unlimited Electrical
A class II electrical contractor is unrestricte and can perform any type of electrical work anywhere in Georgia.
Utility Contractor
The utility contractor's license allows you to construct, erect, alter, or repair or have constructed, erected, altered, or repaired any utility system.
Conditioned Air Contractor Class I (Restricted)
The Air Conditioning Class I license is limited to the installation, repair, or service of conditioned air systems. Service to or installation of the electrical circuit from the electrical distribution panel to the conditioned air equipment where the electrical service to the building or site is a single-phase electrical circuit not exceeding 200 amperes is considered to be installation, repair, or service of conditioned air equipment or the conditioned air system.
Conditioned Air Contractor Class II (Unrestricted):
The AC class II license is unrestection and allows for the installation, repair and service of any type of air conditioning system anywhere in Georgia.
Low Voltage Alarm (LV-A)
The low voltage alarm license is restricted to alarm and general system low-voltage contracting. burglary, fire, robbery, medical emergency, or equipment failure, or on the occurrence of any other predetermined event.
Low Voltage General (LV-G)
The low voltage general license is restricted to general system low-voltage contracting. This inclueds the installation, alteration, service, or repair of a telecommunication system, alarm system, or general system involving low-voltage wiring. 50 volts or less.
Low Voltage Unrestricted (LV-G)
This license is unrestricted and permits the performance of alarm, telecommunication, and general system low-voltage contracting
