Florida 14-Hour Financial Responsibility Course

Florida contractors need to have at least a 660 FICO score in order to obtain their contractor’s license, otherwise they must submit a licensing bond or irrevocable letter of credit. The licensing bond or letter of credit must be kept until the 660 score is reached. The amount of the bond or letter of credit is $20,000 for Division I contractors and $10,000 for Division II contractors.

Completing the 14-Hour Financial Responsibility Course reduces the amounts of the bond or letter of credit by half.
