How to Install Awnings

  1. Find the exact center of the door, and mark it on the wall
  2. Find the exact center of the awning, and mark appropriately. The best method for this is measuring the wireframe
  3. Measure up from the floor or ground 74" to 84". This measurement will be for the bottom line of the awning
  4. With a helper, hold the awning in place referencing measurement marks. Check to see that the door is not constricted in movement
  5. Put the mounting bar into place, ensuring your measurements and mounting points are level. At one end, fasten the mounting bar using appropriate hardware
  6. Go to the other end, insure that the mounting bar in level, and fasten this end
  7. Fasten other mounting bolts as referenced in the installation manual
  8. Caulk the mounting bar around its edges to prevent moisture and insects from getting behind bars
  9. Attach the support arms to the camelback bracket already mounted on the edge canopy rafter at the front of the awning. Be sure to put the head of the bolt on the outside to avoid tearing the fabric
  10. Repeat on the opposite side
