LCEC Emergency Permitting Restoration Procedures
After the destruction of Hurricane Ian, LCEC continues to restore power to the communities as fast as possible. Customers are strongly advised to check the damages done to their homes and/or business. Some damages can be fixed by LCEC, and some must be taken care of by the customers.
Permitting Procedures
- Lee County:
- The 1st phase of Disaster Recovery will focus on helping Lee County residents and business owners to obtain the correct permits and inspections to fix the damages. Priority will be given to specific damaged projects. Check the List of Record Types currently permitted in this phase.
- City of Cape Coral:
- The 1st phase of Disaster Recovery will focus on helping Cape Coral residents and business owners to obtain the correct permits and inspections to fix the damages. Required inspections will be up to the Contractor or Owner-Builder to contact:

- Charlotte County:
- Residential and Business customers must apply for a permit and a passed/completed inspection during business hours. For after-hours, customers must apply for permits and have 72 hours to schedule and pass the inspection (Agriculture is exempt).
- Hendry County:
- During business hours, customers must apply for a permit and/or a passed/completed inspection or "okay to reconnect" approval from the county. If it is after hours, the customer is given 72 business hours to apply for the permit and pass the inspection. (Agricultural repairs must apply for an exempt agricultural form).
Once LCEC receives the passed inspections, they will reconnect the community services. The city or county will notify them of the passed inspections. At this time, there is no estimated timeframe for reconnection.
For customers who need their service lines disconnected for repairs, they must complete the Hurricane Repair And Reconnection Request Form.
