City Permits

In the City of North Port, a permit is required for the following:
- Building
- Roofing
- Land Clearing
- Tree Removal
In the City of North Port, ou will always need the parcel ID number and your lot, block and addition. You can get this information from your tax bill, or by visiting the Sarasota County Property Appraiser's website or calling Office at 861-8200
You will always need a completed building permit application. Application forms are available at the Building Division, located on the first floor of City Hall (4970 City Hall Blvd.) or by going to the Permit Application Forms.
In the city of North Port, you must make an appointment to file a commercial permit application.
Specialty Contractor Registration
All contractors' registrations are valid for one year and expire on September 30th of each year.
In the City of North Port you must provide a copy of your state or county license as part of the Contractor Registration Application.
Please allow 24-48 hours for processing. As per the City of North Port, permits will not be accepted until the registration process has been completed.
