City Permits

In the City of Miami Shores, a building permit is required for all new construction and for any repairs or reconstruction which alters a structure. Building permits are also required for other construction such as:

  • Accessory Buildings (sheds, garages, etc.)
  • Air Conditioning Units
  • Burglar Alarms
  • Docks
  • Drainfield Repairs / replacements
  • Driveways
  • Fences
  • Fire Alarms
  • Heat Pumps
  • Lawn Irrigation Systems
  • Re-roofing
  • Sanitary Sewer Connections
  • Screen Enclosures
  • Septic Tanks
  • Sidewalks
  • Slabs or Patios
  • Swimming Pools
  • Tennis Courts
  • Tree Removal and Satellite Dishes
  • Water Heater Replacement

When applying for a permit, the contractor must have the qualifier for the company sign our permit application and owner's affidavit forms (according to State of Florida laws).

In the City of Miami Shores, NEW permit application can’t be submitted after 4 PM.
