The Building Permit Application is the starting point in pursuing a property change. It is one of the first documents requiring completion and needs to be submitted prior to starting work to:

• Construct
• Enlarge
• Alter
• Repair
• Move
• Demolish or change the occupancy of a building or structure
• Convert or replace any electrical, gas, mechanical or plumbing system

Depending on the job, additional supporting paperwork will be required to describe the desired change. Once again, the Community Development staff will help you through the process, ensuring the modification meets code.

City of Iverness Contractor Registration

All contractors' registrations are done with Citrus County.

In the City of Iverness you must provide a copy of your state or county license as part of the Contractor Registration Application.

You must submit the following documents as part of the Contractor Registration:

• Affidavit of Worker’s Compensation, signed and notarized
• Copy of Current State License
• Copy of Worker’s Comp Exempt form, if applicable
• Copy of Liability and Worker’s Comp. Insurance -- (Certificate of Insurance must list Citrus County Building Division as the Certificate Holder)
• Copy of your Business Tax Receipt, if required by your County
• A copy of the qualifier’s driver’s license. Please black out the driver’s license number, date of birth, and home address before emailing us
