Excavation contractor means the scope of certification includes the excavation or removal of material such as rock, gravel and sand to construct or excavate canals, lakes, levees, and includes the clearing of land of surface debris; and vegetation, the grubbing of roots, the removal of debris; and the leveling and grading of the surface lands incidental thereto. As regulated under Florida Statute, a person who has passed a competency examination as an Excavation Contractor may perform these or related tasks or may supervise persons in his employ in the execution of these tasks.
