Home inspectors are those who are qualified to inspect one-family, two-family and three-family residences not exceeding two (2) habitable stories in height. Any person performing home inspections must hold his/her own certificate of competency. The home inspector, the company which is qualified by the home inspector, and the company which employs the home inspector, are prohibited from performing, or contracting to perform, any work requiring a contractor's license on a residence for one (1) year following an inspection of that residence pursuant to this authority.
