Broward County (Florida) Building Code Official (GITS©) License

A Home Inspector can perform field inspections in single and two family residences inside Broward County as they relate to the Florida Building Code, all of its related sections, and the National Electrical Code. The inspector may check component systems for operation and visible violation of code; such inspection may include the use of testing equipment that may be readily and easily connected or measured; however, the inspector may NOT perform any inspection that requires the removal of equipment or component panels or that require a license as trade contractor such as, but not limited to HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Pool and Spa trades.

Work that may NOT be done is an attachment of refrigerant pressure gauges, amp probes, voltmeters, watt meters, water pressure gauges, and similar devices. Devices that may be used include thermometers used without physical connection or contact with any equipment or component of a system, receptacle ready plug in devices for voltage, ground fault, and/or arc fault testing. The inspector may not refer work to themselves if they hold a current, valid contractors license in any trade or profession that is regulated by the State of Florida or any Broward County Division of the Central Examining Board.
