Do I apply for my license before taking the exam?

When obtaining a license through the State or most Counties in Florida, you will be required to pass your examination before. Once you feel like you have prepared enough, you will apply to take the test. Please be aware when applying for the exam, it does not mean you are applying for the license. Below you will see more on the steps to obtain a license in the State or Counties in Florida.

  • State
    To obtain a State license you will get the books, study, apply for exam, take exam, and apply for the license.
  • Counties
    To obtain a County license you will apply for sponsership, get the books, take exam, and apply for the license. For the Sponsership, the individual will let the county know they are acquiring for a license. The Sponsership application will ask for very little information about yourself.

For the wood flooring, you can obtain the General Contractor License in Florida. You do need to pass the Trade and Business exams. We have the books and classes to prepare you to pass both exams. For more information click the link below.
