Electrical Contractors Board

The Electrical Contractors Board currently offers two licenses to perform work in the State of Alabama: the Electrical Contractor and Journeyman Electrician. Some of its main activities involve the processing and review of applications, determining their qualifications to engage in business and electrical work, and investigating any complaints filed that may involve any violations of the Alabama Legislature State Code 1975. Electrical Contractors performing any work exceeding $50,000 must have an electrical license issued by the Alabama Licensing Board for General Contractors.

NASCLA is an Accredited Examination Program designed to reduce redundant licensing requirements and assist contractors and journeymen needing to be licensed in multiple jurisdictions. NASCLA offers statewide exams for both the Electrical Contractor and Journeyman Electrician.
